Welcome to the South Dakota Extension Master Gardener website!
Master Gardeners are trained volunteers who assist the SD Cooperative Extension Service in providing yard and garden
educational activities and information across the state.
Extension Master Gardener Training Information
Over 1,000 South Dakotans have received the training, and have returned over 60,000 reported hours service to the state. If you want to learn more about plants and gardening and would enjoy sharing that knowledge, the Extension Master Gardener may be your ticket!
2009 training locations: Note the training has switched from Beresford to Sioux Falls!
Hot Springs (May 19-July 14), Wagner (May 7-July 2), Brookings (Mar 17- May 14), Sioux Falls (Apr 17-June 12) and Selby (May 20-July 15).
Tentative future locations: 2010: Aberdeen, Sioux Falls, Rapid City, Miller 2011: Mitchell, Pierre, Watertown, Yankton, Belle Fourche/Spearfish

Master Gardener Endowment Fund Interest from this fund is used for
small grants to individuals or groups involved in horticulture educational
projects in South Dakota.
Applications are due in March of each year.
